Bee Pollen

Pollen granules collected by bees with a complete amino acid profile, exceptional B-vitamin complex, flavonoids, and unique bioflavonoids with documented anti-inflammatory and allergy-reducing properties. Possibly the most diverse nutritional food on earth — containing vitamins, minerals, protein, enzymes, and phytonutrients in a single small granule.

Why it is ours

African beekeeping tradition — including the Yoruba honey-gathering tradition — connects bee pollen to what West African ancestors knew. APEX introduces it as a prostate health and allergy management food within that ancestral context.

What it does

Bee pollen flavonoids (particularly rutin and quercetin) have anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activity. Research on bee pollen for benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) shows 78% improvement in symptoms in one clinical trial. The iron and B12 combination addresses anemia from multiple mechanisms. Regular local bee pollen consumption has evidence for reducing seasonal allergy severity through gradual immunomodulation.

How it is cooked

Available at health food stores and farmers markets. Sprinkle 1-2 tsp on yogurt, oatmeal, or smoothies. Start with 1/4 tsp and increase gradually over 1-2 weeks to test for allergy (rare but possible in people with pollen allergies). Fresh is better than processed/powdered.
