Hemp Protein Powder

Powder milled from whole hemp seeds, retaining fiber and the seed's omega fats — a less-processed, complete plant protein with a green nutty taste. Closer to a whole food than isolated protein powders.

Why it is ours

Hemp protein appeals to whole-food-minded Black plant-based eaters who want a supplement that is closer to the actual seed — fiber and omegas intact, not stripped down to isolate.

What it does

Hemp protein is a complete protein (all nine essential amino acids) and, unlike isolates, keeps the seed's fiber and its well-balanced omega-3 to omega-6 ratio — anti-inflammatory nutrition the weathering-stressed Black body benefits from. It supplies highly absorbable magnesium, iron, and zinc. Because it is milled whole rather than extracted, it is the least-processed protein powder on this list and the closest to a whole food — a reason to favor it over isolated pea or soy powders. The fiber supports digestion and cholesterol, lining up with the Black heart-disease picture.

How it is cooked

Blend into smoothies — it is grittier and greener than isolates, so pair with banana, cacao, or berries. Stir into oatmeal or bake into muffins. Its fiber means it does not dissolve fully; embrace the texture or blend hard.
