APEX Legacy · a way of life

Sheep Milk

The richest dairy milk in fat, protein, and vitamins — twice the fat and protein of cow milk. Extraordinarily high in CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), which has documented anti-cancer and body composition effects. Sheep milk cheese (feta, manchego, pecorino) has a long Mediterranean and North African tradition.

Why it is ours

North African and Sahelian ancestral dairy tradition. Fulani people's traditional livelihood is sheep/goat herding — their descendants in the Black diaspora carry that ancestral connection.

What it does

CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) in sheep milk has documented anti-cancer activity in multiple cell line studies, and body composition benefits (reduces visceral fat) in human clinical trials. The high protein density supports muscle maintenance for aging Black Americans. Natural A2 beta-casein profile similar to goat milk — better tolerated than cow milk.

How it is cooked

Sheep milk is expensive and less available than goat milk. More commonly available as cheese (feta, manchego, pecorino). Use sheep milk cheese as a higher-nutritional-value dairy option. Fresh sheep milk from specialty farms.
